Madai – May Day / Pure Evil

Madai is an emerging Cuban-born talent from Miami who was recently signed to Pitbull‘s label Mr. 305, Inc.  Pitbull has practically become a symbol of the Latin Crossover movement with his energetic Spanglish lyrics and beats bred for the nightclub.  The songs sung by Madai are destined for the same level of success and she has even released some demos on Soundcloud to give listeners a taste of what is to come when the album releases.

While many artists in the world of pop and dance fade away faster than they arrived, Madai’s music contains several ingredients that show promise and durability.  She has a voice and performance presence filled with power and confidence, while at the same time possessing the ability to surprise listeners with the soulful passion and insight of an R&B artist.  In the upcoming Spanglish Noise interview, Madai even admits that she has a special place in her heart for R&B and hopes to work with the genre down the road, although the first album is said to contain predominantly pop and dance tracks.  For now, I leave you with an early look at the songs “May Day” and “Pure Evil“:
